Store Medications Securely

Lock up your Meds
People that abuse or sell prescription drugs often get them from the medicine cabinets of others. Lock up your medications out of sight to prevent theft or accidental consumption by children or pets.
Medicine Cabinets aren't for Medicine!
Unnecessary exposure to heat and moisture (like in the bathroom or kitchen cabinet near the stove) can cause your medications to lose their potency prior to their labeled expiration date. Store your medications in a cool dry place that's out of reach for children.
Don't Store them Longer than Needed
Pay attention to the expiration date. Once medications are expired, throw them away following proper disposal steps and replace them as needed.
Ask the Experts
Ask your pharmacist for any specific instructions regarding your medication. Some may need to be refrigerated.
